Terms and Conditions:
1. Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received in full. Full payment must be received
prior to the commencement of the course.
2. Logan's reserves the right to cancel or transfer classes, in such cases as the minimum number
of attendees is not secured or other instances.
3. Where a class is cancelled by Logan's and a transfer to another class is not possible, then a
full refund will be provided.
4. Where a class is cancelled by a student within 7 days prior to the commencement of the
class/course then no refund will be available. A partial refund may be given at Logan’s discretion
if cancelled before this time.

This ten sided shape is new to quilters and is easily pieced using the new Gem 10 and Gem 5 tools from the Jewel Box collection. Choose an array of rainbow fabrics as in the pattern or your own combination to make a wall hanging or table topper. Instructions will be given for squaring up the quilt to make it bed sized. |

Using Cheryl Phillips templates makes this Mariner's Compass so much more fun than the traditional method. The points are folded and enclosed in the seams and there are only 4 seams at the centre making a flat centre rather than a "funnel".
This picture shows one block which which you will be making in class but your quilt can be 3.5.8. or 13 blocks set on point if you wish.
One block can star in the centre of your quilt or be a practice run for a special quilt using fussy cutting, split inserts or 32 points. |

The class will cover basic machine operation, including maintenance, stitch selection and adjustment. Stitches will include straight stitch, zig-zag and some of its uses, buttonholes and some hemming options. Computer functions vary vastly between makes and models and these will not be covered. I don't presume that anyone has any experience on their machine, but that the machine is in working order and has the instruction manual and basic accessories (replacement instruction manuals can usually be ordered through a sewing machine dealer or you could contact the state office of the company concerned).
This is a small class so that students will gain a more intensive approach to their machines.
Cost includes a fabric kit. |
